Lee-Ann Easton Appointed Administrator of Human Resources

Carson City, NV - December 13, 2011

State of Nevada Director of Administration Jeff Mohlenkamp announced the appointment of Lee-Ann Easton to the position of Administrator for the Division of Human Resource Management (formerly the Department of Personnel) effective Monday, Dec. 19, 2011. Easton will replace departing Administrator Teresa Thienhaus.

“With Lee-Ann’s extensive human resource experience, her collaborative approach and outstanding work ethics, I am confident she will continue to move the division towards our goals of improved employee and agency relations, enhanced efficiency and the successful development of centralized human resources services,” said Mohlenkamp.

Previously, Easton worked for the Department of Administration where her duties included overseeing human resources functions and assisting the Director with managing day-to-day operational activities, managing budget responsibilities, and providing administrative oversight to the department’s personnel office.

In addition to her strong background in project management, operations and budgeting, Lee-Ann brings with her nearly 23 years of experience in human resources. She began her career with the State of Nevada working with the Public Employees Benefits Program, then served several years in the Department of Personnel before moving on to the Department of Administration.

In 1994 she joined the Department of Administration as a Personnel Technician and was progressively promoted up to the Personnel Officer, where she served the majority of her time. During her tenure in human resources, she successfully developed the Department of Administration’s comprehensive centralized personnel services program which entailed evaluating program needs, hiring support staff and coordinating the merger of 10 different divisions into one centralized personnel services program. Easton has managed and been directly involved in all aspects of human resources including employee relations and development, recruitment, training, workplace investigations, personnel hearings, and employee associations relations. Additionally, she has served on several boards, committees and professional human resources organizations during her career and has gained a thorough knowledge of personnel statutes and regulations.

In October 2011 the Department of Personnel merged with the Department of Administration and was renamed the Division of Human Resource Management. Easton will oversee all administrative, staffing and technical activities statewide for the division and will work closely with the State Personnel Commission on all matters of personnel administration. She will also be responsible for establishing strategic plans with measurable objectives and will work with other State of Nevada agency leaders to develop programs for improving effectiveness and employee morale.
