Carson City, NV – The Department of Administration Director, Patrick Cates is pleased to announce Robbie Burgess as the new Fleet Services Administrator effective Monday, August 21, 2017. “I am thrilled to bring Robbie on-board to serve in this critical leadership position and to welcome him to our service-minded team,” Cates said.
Robbie joins the Department of Administration after eight years with the Department of Public Safety, six of which as a NV Highway Patrol Trooper. Prior to coming to the state, Robbie was President and General Manager of Michael’s Cycle Works in Carson City for over 20 years.
As the Administrator for Fleet Services, Robbie will be responsible to manage over 1,000 vehicles; oversee fleet rental locations in Carson City, Reno and Las Vegas; a fleet maintenance program; a fueling program including alternative fuels and electric charging stations; and emergency road-side assistance, among other things.

I am appreciative of the great work the former Administrator, Keith Wells, did to create a strong and responsive program, and I am eager, with the help of the outstanding Fleet Services Team and Department leadership, to take it to the next level while continuing to exceed the expectations of our clients through outstanding customer service and product delivery.”
Robbie is eager to begin his new career with Fleet Services and says he loves anything with a motor – he considers time with airplanes, motorcycles, boats, and cars his “Throttle Therapy.” Robbie flies as a recreational pilot and volunteers for the Reno Air Races Association as its Chief Starter and Chief Pilot Check for the Federal Aviation Administration. He also helps out at the Virginia City Motorcycle Grand Prix providing mechanical and medical assistance to riders in need.
The previous Fleet Services Administrator, Keith Wells, retired July 7, 2017 after 34 years of state service.
